Happy 28th Birthday Gordon

Gordon was finally able to open his present. Alexander and I had this gift wrapped and sitting in the house for a couple months now. Gordon tried tricking me into telling him what the gift was, but I was victorious and he was so suprised! Gordon LOVES to cook. He particulary loves to cook gourmet meats, breads and soups. He beats all competition when it comes to making french bread. We had been looking for a long french bread baking pan for over a year now till I finally found his birthday present online several months back. Gordon has made several batches of bread with his ceramic dish and the bread has turned out to be heavenly!! When the family goes to Italy, we are having an iron chef competition...we might as well go ahead and give Gordon the prize now! Chuckle

Baby Delight

Alexander is such a delight. He is such a happy, curious, and content little guy. He loves his walker play station and chewing on his teething cookies. At his 4 month doctor visit, he was 27 inches long and weighed 15.8 pounds. Last week he pushed himself up into the crawling position!

Super Diaper Baby! Dad was being silly and putting the diaper on Alexander's head. I bet every dad has done this to their child at some point. (chuckle)

Winter Storm

Alexander is ready for the snow with his new beany hat and mittens.

A week and a half ago we recieved several feet of snow. My car was buried and our electricity went out for several hours. Gordon was at work so Alexander and I just played the piano, read books and bundled up in a blanket until the heat came back on. It was fun! If it is going to be cold, it might as well snow. Besides, it is not really winter until we get at least one good snow fall!

My Newest ADDICTION!

I am addicted to GUITAR HERO. New Years Eve, Keith and Cammie invited us to their home for pizza and guitar hero. We went and now we are hooked. Gordon and I always said that we did not want video games in our home, but guitar hero is now my #1 birthday wish! In reality, we probably will not purchase the game. I'd rather have new running shoes so that I can keep my new year goals, which are...

1. Lose my "baby weight" by training for
2. the Half marathon in April, a full marathon in May and the Wasatch Back in June.
3. Be calm when driving. Keep the road rage under control..besides, the people who just dangerously cut in front of me must need to get to the hospital fast, or the person who turned the corner going 5-7 miles an hour off the main road must have a pot of soup in the back seat that they do not want to spill.
4. Pass my last class and get done with Weber State!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!!!!

Christmas

I finaly have a moment to sit and update our blog. Our little family went down to my brother-in-law's ranch for Christmas. We had so much fun! Christmas eve, when we arrived, a blizzard set in for several hours, leaving the 2 mile dirt "drive-way" covered with snow and 3 foot snow drifts. We actually arrived at the house before my brother-in-law and his cute family returned from a different family gathering, so we started a fire in the wood burning stove since we could not get the power generator to start. We just sat and watched the snow blow sideways and prayed for their safe return. Luckily, they arrived safe and we were able to have a nice dinner that night and a fun Christmas day. Some of the pictures in the slide show are of Alexander in his new christmas pj's, Dani (Alexander's cousin) and her new tricycle from Santa, Greg and Maleia's great dane dogs: Katie and King, Alexander ready to help with chores in his new vest and a view of part of the ranch from the front porch.
