Our diligent mother chicken managed to hatch 1 egg. Look at that
cute little fluff ball to the left of her. So fun.

My attempt to make a Lego cake. Never try to frost a cake
when your kitchen temperature is almost 90 degrees. Frosting
melts. Good thing we had an AWESOME cake topper. :o)

This handsome boy turned 5 on the 22nd. We had a family party
for him at the home. He was one happy kid, especially since he
got Legos!

It can be official now. Alexander is the chef of the
house. He got his chef hat. 

Cute little Matthew playing on the swing set. We have an
awesome back yard. Look at that view! 

We were able to take the boys through the Brigham Temple
open house. Alexander and William were so excited. They had
been counting down the days.

Where did they get their blue eyes from? 

Melt my heart. Alexander is turning into such a fine
young boy. He is handsome and still so innocent and
sweet. The other day he made my bed for me as a
surprise and has been so helpful around the house.

First day of Preschool for sweet and handsome William. Both boys go one
   day a week.It has been nice. It allows  me one day of long personal home
 school time with whoever is home. They are soaking up the personal time
 together.

Alexander gets to go to Preschool one day a week again and be a teacher
helper.
 I was worried he would be really bored but he is enjoying it very much.

Lincoln got himself ready to go to school too. I can't
kiss this cute face enough.

The last week of August we went to collect pine cones in the mountains.
Here is a picture of dirty but happy faced Lincoln on the car ride home.
A note to self for next years pine collecting
1. Wear long sleeve shirt that can be trashed afterwards.
2. Bring enough disposable gloves to wear so hands do not
get super sticky.
3. Bring buckets of boxes to gather pine cones in. Plastic trash
bags stick closed if there are not enough hands to hold it open.
Plus the pine cones weigh a lot. The bags tear.

We took the boys up to the family cabin over Labor Day weekend.
We enjoyed taking walks to the river, watching cowboy movies, doing
puzzles, reading books, archery, drinking soda and being "away."

I'm the one who takes pictures so I attempted to take
a picture of me with each of my children on this
mini vacation. Please don't judge...no makeup and lack
of sleep.

I love Williams beaming smiles.

Lincoln's 3rd tooth finally broke through on top.

Home school is going well so far. I'm finding cheap, creative and
fun ways to learn. Alexander is loving this math activity. I just
took a muffin tin and placed paper numbers inside. Alexander then
counts out the number of beads and does addition. 

He finally finished weaving his first pot holder. The Easter
bunny gave the weaving kit to him in April and he has been
working on it a bit at a time until he completed it this month.
Looks great. Plus, we really needed a new one for the kitchen.

This is what school at our house looks like.

The boys were hammering nails into this piece of wood a couple
weeks ago. So I drew a grid for them to place the nails and pulled out
rubber bands. The kids love to make alphabet letters with this. This has
been great for William. He is my artistic, hands on learner.  Something so
cheap yet so fun!
