Family Updates

ALEXANDER UPDATES




-Turned 11 months this week
-received his 3rd haircut
-started walking
-received his 7th tooth two months ago!
-has been potting training since 6 months. (He does not like being is dirty diapers!I was shocked how he signaled to me to start training him.Wouldn't it be nice to have him out of diapers and completely off of formula by the time the next baby comes.)
-Sits in a big boy car seat facing forward and loves it



Alexander can...
-whistle, climb up and down stairs, open cabinets and drawers, open toilet lid, unscrew caps to bottles or flip the tops and he can walk (although he prefers to crawl because he is quicker at it.)

-put shaped blocks in proper slot on the top of bucket, almost turn door knobs, plays the kazoo and the piano (both of which he loves)



-feed self with spoon, will only eat adult food and otter Popsicles(the pictures below of him eating are when he first started eating on his own. What a mess! He still has his days and it makes me laugh.)





Alexander likes to....
-do all the above plus,
-unroll the toilet paper and eat it
-read, his favorite book is "No David" by David Shannon




-read and swim (he'll put his head under water by himself!)


-climb the couch, bookshelf..pretty much anything
-receive head messages and have me run my fingers through his hair
-be outside, put everything into mouth
-stand on the chair next to me when I am washing dishes and play with the soap bubbles, help push vacuum, unload dishwasher by pulling items out and placing them on the floor, close dryer door and pull cloths out and destroy my neatly folded laundry piles. (He is a great help! :o)
-be with other kids- loves having Taylor over every week to play


-play with electronics, turn t.v. on, talk on the phone (especially to daddy at work)
-brush his teeth (rather chew on it) and take baths




GORDON UPDATE:
-Gordon is still working full time and going to school full time this summer.
-He only has two classes left for fall and then he graduates.
-In the fall Gordon will be taking the GMAT, LSAT and the Associated Construction ---Institute exam. So he is busy studying for them now.
-He is training for a Triathlon in October.
-He is growing a tomato plant on the side of our townhouse which is doing very well.
-He made a very delicious tart for dinner today-he loves to cook.

ALANA UPDATE:
-Almost half way through pregnancy and (William) baby is already kicking like crazy
-Training for the triathlon with Gordon
-Released from the Relief Society presidency (sad), but have been called to be R.S. Teacher (YEAH!)
-Taking piano lessons
-Love to swim and have play groups for Alexander and me

3rd Haircut!

We gave Alexander his 3rd haircut a week ago. Each time we cut his hair, we have cut between 1-2 inches off! He definitely has his daddy's thick, blond, fast growing hair. I love it! I love to run my fingers through Alexander's hair when he lays his head of my lap or when I feed him a bottle. Alexander sure enjoys it too. Lately I have been giving him head messages and he loves them just like his Dad. :o)
